Selection of welding materials for duplex stainless steel? The material is duplex stainless steel; which company’s product (model) would be suitable as the welding material (wire or rod)? Thank you!
Based on their chemical composition, duplex stainless steels can be divided into four categories: Cr18 type, Cr23 type (without Mo), Cr22 type, and Cr25 type. The most commonly used ones are the Cr22 type and Cr25 type. The sheets are usually produced in Sweden, as are the welding materials: by the Swedish company Sandvik； The specific grades are: 3RE60 (Cr18 type), SAF2304 (Cr23 type), SAF2205 (Cr22 type), SAF2507 (Cr25 type)
