A faulty check valve – guess what’s wrong?

You don’t even specify what type of check valve it is; there are too many possibilities to consider.
It fails to provide a check function; the spring is corroded or its movement is restricted due to scaling, and debris gets stuck.
The check valve worth 300 yuan that was just removed yesterday became clogged with polymer; the polymer made it impossible for the spring to return to its original position. It was burned to clean it up, and then someone was hired to repair it properly. It’s a kind of bad one, I guess
