As the equipment manager for the owner, there are some details regarding the equipment that requires insulation that have not been addressed properly; it is precisely these details that can lead to significant heat loss or pose risks of equipment failures. Many people will not pay attention to such problems. The image shows the use of a heat exchanger, with the temperature of the process fluid in the shell side being 250 degrees. It mainly depends on the insulation performance of the images; the existing insulation measures include insulating the casing and pipes. Please improve the areas that require insulation or heat protection.

There are two more areas that need insulation; please look for them.
Piping flanges, equipment skids... Generally, since the equipment needs to be disassembled and cleaned, the flanges of the inlet and outlet pipelines usually do not have insulation protection... Perhaps removable insulation can be used for protection, which also helps to avoid waste of resources. As for the skids, it depends on the manufacturer; generally, insulation is applied if cooling is required, while in cases where heat resistance is needed, the approach varies from case to case
Under normal circumstances, the flanges and skirt bases should be insulated; one should not underestimate these areas, as heat loss from them can be significant each year. Therefore, paying attention to details can enhance energy-saving benefits. Furthermore, if the skirt base is not insulated, electrochemical corrosion caused by temperature differences will occur.
Upon closer consideration, thermal insulation should be provided at the saddles of the container and at the support points for those saddles. Because metals have a high thermal conductivity, some of the heat loss is transferred to the support of the saddle. It is important to note that some saddle supports are made of metal; as a result, heat loss can be significant in the absence of an insulating layer.
To summarize: for the structure in the image, there are 3 areas that need insulation added. The first is the flange ; The second is the container saddle ; Third is the saddle and its supporting parts.
The skirt base needs to be insulated, and attention should be paid to the issue of corrosion under insulation... As a suggestion, it might be better to cover it with fire-resistant mortar; this provides fire protection in addition to insulation, but corrosion still needs to be taken into account
