It is precisely in these areas that the risk of equipment corrosion arises, which can severely affect the normal operation of the equipment. The diagram above shows the structure of a heating furnace and its roof in a chemical plant; it is this structure that allows water to accumulate when it rains, which quickly corrodes the roof and allows rainwater to enter the heating furnace. When rainwater enters a furnace that is in operation, the consequences are predictable. Through this incident, we must pay attention to the unreasonable design of equipment, especially those designs that are prone to cause corrosion of the equipment, as these require our special attention.

Given the unreasonable conditions of some of the steel structures on site, the existing structure will be modified to address the drainage issues while ensuring that the strength of the steel structures remains unchanged, so that no moisture accumulates in any area.
Many unreasonable aspects were found in the installation, including improper equipment placement, inadequate design, and unsound operating procedures. The root causes of these issues are largely related to human factors: designers who are not familiar with the actual conditions on site and simply follow the process specifications without modification; operators who carry out their tasks based on years of experience rather than following standards; and managers who fail to address these problems regularly, do not correct the relevant instructions, and also fail to provide timely training for the operators.
