The image below shows an underground crude oil pipeline belonging to a petrochemical company; when the external anti-corrosion coating of the pipeline is damaged, severe corrosion occurs in the pipeline. Leaks will occur after about 5 years of use, and the timing of these leaks is unpredictable.
It may be related to the soil chemical properties of this area; alternatively, it might be better to start by analyzing and addressing the issue through the improvement and replacement of the backfill material, for reference.
