This is the corrosion of superheated steam, because the steam temperature of 7.5MPa is nearly 300°C under such conditions. Steam pipelines are caused by oxygen absorption corrosion and water vapor erosion during electrochemical corrosion. The process of corrosion mechanism is: water corrosion: 3Fe + 4H2O → Fe3O4 + 4H2 dissolved oxygen corrosion: cathodic reaction: O2 + 2H2O + 4e → 4OH- Anodic reaction: Fe - 2e → Fe2+
