Due to inadequate anti-corrosion measures on the metal surface prior to insulation, severe corrosion occurred after just two years of use, and some individual tubes suffered from corrosion-induced perforations.
Corrosion beneath the insulation layer is quite common, as there is little monitoring in daily operations; by the time it is detected, leakage has usually already occurred. The reason behind \"out of sight, out of mind\" is that proper preservation measures must be taken.
Especially in the south, corrosion under insulation and cold protection layers is a serious problem. For equipment operating at lower temperatures (such as devices with an operating temperature of around 70°C), there is essentially no solution to corrosion beneath the insulation layer.
