The high-pressure carbon dioxide feed tank uses water to flush things out; what material is used to make the water tank in order to prevent corrosion?
Stainless steel should be the first choice, I guess. However, the issues need to be further refined, such as the volume of the tank, pressure, temperature, and whether it is used continuously or indirectly. For reference.
A 5-cubic-meter water tank; these are two tanks connected to each other. One tank is filled with liquid carbon dioxide, and when the pressure rises (but not above 4 Mpa), the valve is opened allowing the liquid to enter the water tank. Then, under high pressure, the water is forced out of the tank, once a day.
Oh, the jar isn’t very large; checking out 304 stainless steel should work.
If conditions permit, 304 is the best choice; if cost savings are a concern, CS can be used as well, provided that the corrosion margin is adjusted accordingly based on the expected service life.
The Q345R water tanks that are being used these days don’t seem reliable to me
It can be used, with a glass phosphide coating applied internally for corrosion protection.
For a higher-end option, new environmentally friendly anti-corrosion surface materials can be used – polymer silicate materials (PS materials).
Well, I see there’s nothing useful inside it; it’s all rusted. I just use it as is
For Q345R or ND steel, if no anti-corrosion coating is applied, it usually rusts through within 2 to 3 years. If an anti-corrosion coating is applied, the corrosion resistance will **improve, and there is no need to use stainless steel.
