Which process comes first: polishing or acid washing and passivation for pharmaceutical equipment? If polishing is done first, won’t pickling damage the results of polishing? And if pickling is done first, then polishing will damage the passivation effect achieved through pickling – it’s a bit contradictory
Polishing should be done first; pickling and passivation do not have a significant impact on the surface finish. However, the passivation layer is very thin, and polishing after passivation will definitely damage that layer
I’m not sure what the effect of pickling and passivation has on the polished surface; pharmaceutical equipment and certain electronic products require a high level of surface smoothness
