Heroes! Are there any **standards** for selecting the appropriate stainless steel depending on chloride ion content, temperature, and other factors? It's okay to use selection guidelines too; I've been struggling with this for a long time.

It is a relatively complex option, as the factors affecting material corrosion include the medium, temperature, pressure, pH value, etc. As for stainless steel, it is affected not only by chloride ions but also by temperature, pressure, and pH value. For example, in the presence of chloride ions, the pH value has a significant impact on stainless steel. Pitting corrosion occurs when the pH value is acidic, while it generally does not occur when the pH value is alkaline. Therefore, at present, there is no established procedure or standard that provides a systematic overview of chloride corrosion of stainless steel in various media. However, there are reference materials for different chloride ion contents in a specific medium. Therefore, to address stainless steel corrosion in a particular environment, one can consult relevant literature and corrosion data; if necessary, simulation tests can be conducted to comprehensively analyze the situation and find a solution.
Under conditions of high chloride ion content, low pH value, and high temperature, stainless steel generally exhibits poor corrosion resistance; therefore, chemical equipment made of impermeable graphite is recommended. PVC or PP can also be used when the temperature is not high, the pressure is not high, and there are no organic solvents present.
Stainless steel is resistant to chloride corrosion; it is recommended to use polyaniline anti-corrosion coatings.
