The images below show the corrosion and scaling conditions of the gasoline water cooler (on the gasoline side) and the wastewater cooler in a certain petrochemical plant; the tube bundles have a short service life and result in low heat exchange efficiency. This is a common phenomenon in petrochemical carbon steel pipe bundles, posing a significant bottleneck for enterprise production. It is also a challenge facing us, the technical professionals.
To prevent corrosion and scaling of the tube bundles in petrochemical heat exchangers, the following methods can be considered: 1. Select appropriate materials: Use materials with greater corrosion resistance, such as stainless steel or titanium alloys, to manufacture the heat exchanger tube bundles. 2. Optimize water treatment: Perform appropriate chemical treatment on cooling water, such as adding corrosion inhibitors and scale inhibitors. 3. Regular cleaning and maintenance: Periodically perform mechanical or chemical cleaning of the heat exchanger to remove corrosion products and scale inside the pipes. 4.
