The images below show use indoors as well; one unit is protected with alkyd enamel while the other is protected with epoxy enamel. The results vary depending on the device: those that have been in use for about 2 years (with alkyd enamel coating) are either difficult to clean or impossible to clean, as oil stains have penetrated deep into the surface of the coating, making cleaning extremely challenging. Furthermore, traces of oil penetration have appeared on the surface of the coating after scrubbing. The other one doesn’t have stains penetrating the coating surface, making it easy to clean; it has been in use for over 10 years now.
Epoxy enamel outperforms alkyd enamel significantly in terms of corrosion resistance and cleaning properties. In the same indoor environment, equipment coated with epoxy paint for corrosion protection remains easy to clean even after long-term use, with no oil stains penetrating the surface, whereas equipment coated with alkyd paint is more difficult to clean, showing oil stain marks on its surface. .
