The image below shows the tube bundle of the fourth-line heat exchanger for crude oil in the atmospheric and vacuum distillation process in the petrochemical industry. Model FB700-60-40-2, tube bundle material: 10# steel. The operating condition is that the tube side contains initial bottom oil, while the shell side has a four-line reduction ； The operating temperature is 279 degrees in the tube side and 358 degrees in the shell side ； The pressure in the tube side is 2.04 MPa, and that in the shell side is 0.67 MPa. This tube bundle has been in use for over 2 years, and the anti-erosion plates on its outer wall are severely corroded; some of them have completely corroded away, rendering the tube bundle completely ineffective. The minus-four wire is located in high-temperature areas and is subject to corrosion caused by high temperatures and sulfur, as well as naphthenic acid.
This problem may be caused by high temperatures and the presence of sulfur or naphthenic acids, leading to severe corrosion of the impact shield. It is recommended to inspect and replace damaged impact shields, while considering the use of high-temperature and corrosion-resistant materials to extend the equipment’s service life. .
