The application of arc spraying for long-term corrosion protection in China

Since the 1990s, the long-term corrosion protection technology based on arc spraying has been widely applied in various fields such as coal mining, railways, water resources, ports and harbors, metallurgy, machinery, radio and television, healthcare, power generation, and firefighting. Notable projects that have utilized this technology include the steel piles at the Majishan Port of Baoshan Iron and Steel Group, the track components of Shanghai’s maglev trains, the Three Gorges Dam project, as well as the steel box girders and bridge decks of the Wuhan Junshan Yangtze River Bridge. Additionally, steel structure bridges such as the Nanpu Bridge over Qiandao Lake in Chun’an, the Huangbaihe Bridge over the Yangtze River, the Xialaoxi Bridge, the Sanyuanli Overpass at Guangzhou Airport, and the Pizhou Canal Bridge on the Xulian Expressway have all been protected against corrosion using arc spraying, achieving excellent results in terms of corrosion prevention. Our country now has full capacity to employ arc spraying long-term anti-corrosion technology to address the corrosion protection issues of **large steel bridges.
