Let’s give praise and encouragement to the achievements made in China’s chemical engineering technology and equipment; your participation in discussions is the greatest encouragement. **********************【Ten Years of Progress in Chemical Engineering Equipment】Regular updates and summaries are available – feel free to join the discussions: https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-3576046-1-1.html ***************** On August 20th, it was learned from CNOOC Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd., a company located in the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, that China’s first intelligent painting line for offshore oil and gas equipment was put into use recently at CNOOC Offshore Engineering’s deep-water equipment manufacturing base in Zhuhai. The painting process is an important step in the manufacturing of offshore oil and gas equipment. Anti-corrosion coatings are used to protect such equipment from seawater corrosion, salt spray erosion, and biological growth, thereby extending the structural lifespan and reducing maintenance costs. It is reported that the intelligent painting production line put into use this time is designed specifically for ultra-large tower structures. It consists mainly of a roller frame, external wall spraying robots, internal wall spraying robots, and AGV intelligent tracked transfer vehicles. It features full intelligent control, precise point-to-point spraying, autonomous programming, and automatic obstacle avoidance. The painting system can be customized according to specific requirements, and its work efficiency is 4 to 8 times higher than that of traditional manual methods. In marine industry manufacturing, traditional spraying processes rely mainly on manual and mechanical spraying, and common problems include unstable paint film thickness, low operational efficiency, and high energy consumption. To overcome this challenge, CNOOC Engineering has independently developed an AGV intelligent tracked transfer vehicle that uses robots to achieve automatic spraying of the entire inner surface of the tower. At the same time, this spraying production line features a highly integrated design for the gas supply and power systems, enabling full sealing protection and ensuring that the robot can operate at full capacity for 24 hours continuously. A relevant official from CNOOC Engineering stated that in the next step, the company will explore the use of AI-based autonomous learning algorithms to dynamically optimize the spraying paths and coating thickness, thereby enabling adaptive spraying on complex surfaces and improving precision as well as material utilization efficiency.
The intelligent painting line put into use this time is designed specifically for ultra-large tower structures. It consists of four main components: a roller frame, an outer wall spraying robot, an inner wall spraying robot, and an AGV intelligent tracked transfer vehicle. It features full intelligent control, precise point-to-point spraying, autonomous programming, and automatic obstacle avoidance. The painting system can be customized according to specific requirements, and its work efficiency is 4 to 8 times higher than that of traditional manual methods. In marine industry manufacturing, the common spraying methods include manual spraying and machine spraying, which face issues such as unstable paint film thickness, low operational efficiency, and high energy consumption. Taking the Inch Cape European wind turbine jacket as an example, due to the large size of the tower, there are 2500 millimeters of areas at each of the front and rear ends that are inaccessible for machine spraying. It takes at least half an hour to carry out spraying manually, which makes it easy to encounter issues such as uneven painting, as well as creating dead corners that are difficult to reach for spraying. To overcome this challenge, CNOOC Engineering collaborated with leading domestic manufacturers to work on solutions, innovatively applying more than a dozen new technologies. It developed its own AGV intelligent tracked transfer vehicle, which uses robots to achieve automatic spraying of the entire inner surface of the tower sections – a process that can be completed in just 5 minutes. At the same time, this spraying production line features a highly integrated design for the gas supply and power systems, enabling full sealing protection and ensuring that the robot can operate at full load for 24 hours continuously.
