After seeing the photos of the equipment on site, it’s clear that the paint coating on the platform has suffered significant aging and rusting. Since I’ve previously worked on similar anti-corrosion maintenance projects for petrochemical equipment, I’d like to share a few tips: The first step is to thoroughly remove rust from the surface; old paint layers, loose rust, and oil stains all need to be cleaned away. Sandblasting is the most suitable method for removing rust from such large-scale equipment, as it ensures that the new coating adheres properly to the surface; For coatings, a heavy-duty anti-corrosion system should be chosen; the petrochemical environment is characterized by strong acid and alkali corrosion. It is recommended to use an epoxy zinc-rich primer, an epoxy ferrochrome intermediate coat, and a weather-resistant topcoat – this combination meets the anti-corrosion standards for chemical processing equipment ; During construction, attention must also be paid to environmental conditions; work should not be carried out in rainy weather or when humidity is high. Safety measures must also be taken for work at heights, as it involves working on elevated platforms after all. Finally, it should be noted that the specific construction plan is best devised by consulting a professional anti-corrosion construction team, taking into account the actual corrosive agents present in the installation, in order to avoid mistakes.
