Fiberglass reinforced plastic pipes are lightweight, high-strength, and corrosion-resistant composite pipes that use glass fibers as reinforcing materials and synthetic resins as the matrix; they represent a new type of pipe commonly used in fields such as municipal infrastructure and industrial chemistry. Key features: High corrosion resistance: The chemically inert material can withstand the erosion of acids, bases, salts, and most other chemicals; no additional anti-corrosion treatment is required, and its service life in corrosive environments exceeds 50 years. Excellent mechanical properties: with a density of only 1.5–2.0 g/cm³, its weight is 1/4 that of steel pipes of the same specification; its specific strength is much higher than that of steel pipes. It also has good seismic resistance and can adapt to soil settlement and deformation. High hydraulic efficiency: The roughness coefficient of the inner wall is only 0.0084, resulting in low fluid resistance and no scaling. It enables a 10% higher delivery efficiency compared to steel pipes at the same flow rate, thereby reducing energy consumption. High adaptability: The pipe diameter ranges from DN15mm to DN4000mm, the pressure rating spans from 0.1MPa to 3.2MPa, and the temperature tolerance ranges from -70℃ to 250℃; it can be customized to suit various applications. The common classifications are mainly divided into 10 categories based on function: fiberglass reinforced plastic desulfurization pipes, sand-laid pipes, pressure pipes, cable protection pipes, water conveyance pipes, insulated pipes, ventilation pipes, sewage pipes, jacking pipes, and electrostatic conductive pipes. Among them, fiberglass reinforced plastic sand-laid pipes are the most widely used type in municipal water supply and drainage systems as well as for long-distance water transportation.
