I’m a newcomer; I’ve just started using Aspen HYSYS. To facilitate integration with subsequent distillation processes, it is necessary to include information on all components of virtual components during modeling (for example, methane and other components along with their proportions must be added to the dry gas). However, some of these aggregate components are complex and lack certain information, which makes the work quite difficult. I would like to ask the experienced colleagues here: is there any similar pre-built virtual component available in HYSYS that can be used directly? If so, how does one invoke it? Thank you in advance, everyone. The Spring Festival is approaching soon; I wish everyone a happy New Year!
Generally speaking, there is no ready-made option; a similar one can be copied, and as many properties as possible such as molecular weight, boiling point, density, etc., should be included to make it usable.
It is recommended that you use the component packages suggested by Aspen HYSYS, rather than adding your own less common components. Because some components are available in Aspen HYSYS, but not necessarily in Aspen RefSYS.

Thank you very much; I am using HYSYS as well, but I couldn’t find any pre-made component packages in the component section – the only options available were pure substances. Could you tell me where to find such packages? Thank you so much! Are you looking for it here?
Thank you very much, but the method I require is different from directly setting the physical property parameters; it is necessary to determine the physical properties of each component by setting its composition and ratio.
To use Aspen HYSYS Petroleum Refining, it is a functional component designed for refinery optimization; its virtual components have already been defined, and common reactors as well as distillation columns used in refining are also included – you’ll understand it once you take a look. .
Are you referring to adding it in Assay Management as shown in the diagram? Here there are only crude oil components from different regions, whereas I have used a six-component lumped model in the hydrocracking reaction, namely feedstock oil, diesel, gasoline, heavy naphtha, light naphtha, and gases. Are there any pre-made virtual lumped elements available? Where can I find them? Thank you!
Take a look at the software’s documentation for that section – this refers to the documentation for version 7.3. http://www.docin.com/p-1756343386.html, in English; take a look at it
Thank you very much. I found that HYSYS can generate templates for hydrocracking, which allow for the creation of relatively suitable virtual lumped models.
HYSYS has very powerful functions!
