Happy New Year to everyone! I want to use Aspen to simulate the distillation curve for ASTM D86. How should I do this? Since I’m just starting with Aspen, I’m a complete beginner. I hope it can help me. The image in the attachment was generated by me using code in MATLAB; now I want to use Aspen to simulate it and see if my calculations are correct. I’ve been stuck on this for a long time; it’s urgent. . . .
Provide the distillation curve data and density

My idea is to simulate a distillation process and obtain the temperature in each stage as well as the molar fraction of each component, so that I can further calculate the distillation curve (temperature versus the volume of distillate). I don’t know what kind of distillation data should be entered, such as the flow rate, at which layer the feed should be added, what the reflux ratio should be, and so on. I’ve tried many times but without success. Do you know anything about ASTM D86, and what kind of distillation data should be entered?
I’m sorry, I didn’t understand what you meant at first; I’ve revised my reply.
If one is to simulate a distillation process such as that in a constant-pressure tower by themselves, it is still a very complex task and not easy at all. I don’t know how to perform iterative calculations either; I just use the pre-developed modules for the computations, and I’m not aware of how equations are solved within them. You can retrieve the corresponding file studies*.
Sure, it’s recommended to find a tutorial and take a close look at it
