When designing Aspen simulation settings, if the raw material is used as an operating variable to control the product volume. So when defining the vary tab, can I choose the volume, mass, moles, and standard volumetric flow rate of the material stream? Do the upper and lower limits of the control variable have to encompass the actual raw material feed rate?
The problem now is that when entering the raw material flow rate, I input the actual volumetric flow rate of the raw material under the operating conditions. However, when defining the options on the Vary tab, STDVOL-FLOW (standard volumetric flow rate) is selected, and the defined upper and lower limits clearly do not include the raw material’s molar flow rate multiplied by 22.4; yet no alarm is triggered during operation. What’s going on?
