The raw material composition is shown in the figure below; the amount of raw materials is 436.568 kmol/h. How should this process be designed to obtain 99.5% w% propylene? Can the raw materials be fed directly into the tower for distillation? In that case, wouldn’t a large amount of water cause an excessive load on the tower, increasing its construction cost? ; Or could the water be separated first? If we remove the water first, to what extent is that appropriate? I have relatively little knowledge about industrialization; I would appreciate guidance from those who are more experienced. It is recommended to use an advanced separator for VL separation, and to proceed with the propylene-propylene distillation column once the water content in the vapor phase reaches a certain level. Propanol-propanone distillation towers are now quite mature, with many examples available online. Conventional distillation methods require more energy, but the equipment investment and maintenance costs are much lower.
Dehydration is carried out first, followed by separation in a distillation tower; water and hydrocarbons can be easily separated
