In ASPEN, I ran it using the design option in the shortcut menu, then selected shell&tube; I wanted to use EDR. However, even though I chose to create a new EDR file in the EDR OPTIONS, I was still unable to use it in the EDR browser – an error appeared stating that it was not possible to create a BJAC data browser. What could be the reason for this? Thank you very much for your advice.
It’s possible that in the Aspen environment, you won’t be allowed to use BJAC data; running EDR separately should work though
But if I use EDR alone, I can’t use my logistics information; I don’t know how to enter the physical properties parameters of various shipments in EDR. Is it a problem with my software installation? What is the relationship between BJAC and EDR files? Why do I see that the file icons for these two types of files both look like heat exchangers, but when I open them, they are opened using two different software programs? One is opened with BJAC, and the other is opened with EDR. How is it usually decided which two software programs to choose?
I found that my computer has two versions of the ASPEN software: version 2004 can call B-JAC for heat exchangers, but version 7.3 cannot call EDR, stating that it is not possible to create it
The exact relationship isn’t clear; it seems that there was originally a software called BJAC, and he also had his own database. Later, it was acquired by ASPEN and integrated into EDR. EDR has its own separate interface, and if EDR is run from the Aspen interface, it might cause problems with the integrated version of BJAC
There are two relatively old versions of coe*stence; it is recommended to try installing a newer version in a clean environment
