I am now simulating a cylindrical furnace with a capacity of around 4 MW, and I want to know the exact pressure loss in the convection section. The simulation results show the pressure loss in the convection section in two places, but the values differ significantly. What is going on? Additionally, I calculated the pressure drop in the convection section by hand, and it was around 27 Pa. Could some expert please explain what the voltage drop indicated in my image actually means? The pressure drop across the coil in the convection chamber due to smoke is 5.4 (for convection tubes) + 0.4 (for shroud tubes) = 5.8 mm of water column. The smoke rises; the suction force inside the convection chamber is 3.1 mm of water column. Therefore, the total pressure drop in the convection chamber is 5.8 – 3.1 = 2.7 mm of water column. This furnace has only 4MW of capacity and is a cylindrical type; it is likely a regenerative gas heating furnace or something similar.
