Dear sea friends, there is a liquid ammonia storage tank at low temperature and normal pressure here. At the upper interior part of this tank, there is a spray system; the liquid ammonia with a temperature of around 40°C, coming from a small refrigeration unit, is supplied to this spray system intermittently. What is the function of this spray system, and when does it operate? Please help answer these questions
The refrigeration ice machine compresses ammonia to produce liquid ammonia, which is then sprayed onto the surface of the liquid ammonia tank through throttling. This throttling expansion causes the liquid ammonia to vaporize, generating cooling effect that lowers the temperature of the liquid ammonia storage tank, thus serving a refrigeration purpose.
