When using the Haochen CAD software to create drawings, it is sometimes necessary to depict glass materials, and in such cases it is important to show the transparent nature of glass. But how can this characteristic of glass be represented when printing with CAD? The details are explained below. Using rendering to represent transparency: 1. As shown in the image below, the tabletop is made of glass. 2. Now render the countertop as glass: open [View] – [Render] – [Material Browser], select the countertop, and then click on the glass material in the Material Browser. As shown in the figure below: 3. Realistic visual style — [Show Materials and Textures] — Open View — Visual Styles — Visual Style Manager — Click Realistic — Show Materials and Textures. As shown in the figure below: 4. Convert the view to a real view – go to 【View】–【Visual Style】–【Real】 to display the transparency of the glass. 5. But now, when trying to print it as a line graph image, the tabletop is not transparent. Use the transparency of line charts. 1. Now copy a small table once (Copy) – space – select the small table – click the left mouse button on that small table segment – then click the left button on the blank segment. 2. Select the copied tabletop, press X (Decompose) and then Enter to confirm; select the copied tabletop again, press X (Decompose) and then Enter to confirm. The first time is to decompose the solid into faces, and the second time is to decompose the faces into lines. As shown in the figure below: 3. Convert the view to a hidden view by going to [View] – [Visual Styles] – [Hidden]; the result will be as shown in the figure. 4. Now print it as a line drawing, and the tabletop will appear transparent. Note when printing—color printing—just press as shown. Therefore, after completing the drawing using the HaoChen CAD software, the rendering function can be utilized to depict the transparent properties of glass material when printing the CAD file.
