Which expert can calculate the heat exchange area of ASPEN box-type heat exchangers? For GGH or MGGH, the external dimensions and heat exchange area are required
The heat exchange area is related to the device configuration, fluid properties, and flow conditions, and it also requires equations and experiments to be determined. If not, one can only guess.
In a GGH, the media on both sides are flue gas, such as SO2/CO2/O2/H2O/N2, etc.; whereas in an MGGH, the heat exchange medium is softened water inside the tubes, with flue gas on the outside
For K estimation, values in the range of 17–280 W/m2*K (for fixed-tube plate types) can be considered; it is possible to use a slightly higher upper limit, as box-type heat exchangers typically contain coiled tubes, and thus the heat transfer coefficient should be fairly high. ref: https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-1029028-1-1.html
I see that the data provided by the equipment manufacturer is around 30. I just want to know which module is used to calculate this value; when calculating it manually, the result is over 100, so I’d like to use software for the calculation
