SULCOL is an easy-to-use sizing program suitable for distillation, stripping, and absorption towers equipped with Sulzer mass transfer products. Based on the specified flow rates for liquids and gases and the physical properties at a given column diameter, the sizing procedure yields estimates of the design values specific to the product, such as capacity, pressure drop, and liquid holdup. The calculation program is based on laboratory measurement data of columns with a diameter of up to 2.4 m, as well as the actual operating results of many industrial installations.
