Signing of Project for 100,000 tons of synthetic ammonia and 400,000 tons of methanol in Inner Mongolia / Author/Source: Date: 2017-06-12 Clicks: 37 Recently, a cooperation agreement for a project to produce 100,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year and 400,000 tons of methanol per year using coke oven gas, was signed in Shaanxi Yellow River Mining Group Company by the people’s governments of Bayannur City and Wulat Houqi in Inner Mongolia, as well as Inner Mongolia Heimaot Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. On June 8, Zhang Xiaobing, Deputy Secretary of the Bayannur Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, Wang Xuejun, Deputy Mayor, Jia Peixin, Head of Wulat Houqi County, and other officials visited Shaanxi Yellow River Mining Group Company to discuss cooperation opportunities and advance the Heimaotao coal chemical project. Following in-depth discussions with Li Baoping, chairman of Shaanxi Yellow River Mining Group, the two parties reached a consensus and signed the \"Cooperation Agreement on the Project to Produce 100,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year and 400,000 tons of methanol per year using coke oven gas, carried out by Bayannur People’s Government, Ulaat Khongor People’s Government, and Inner Mongolia Heimao Coal Chemical Co., Ltd.\" It is reported that this cooperation agreement represents a further refinement of the deal signed in 2015 between the people’s government of Wulat Houqi and Heimao Group. The terms of the agreement stipulate that Inner Mongolia Heimao Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. shall invest in the Wulat Houqi Industrial Park to build a facility capable of producing 100,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year, as well as a facility that can produce 400,000 tons of methanol per year using coke oven gas. Building on this project and leveraging coal coking technologies, the company aims to expand the industrial chain and stimulate related coal chemical industries both upstream and downstream in the region. Yellow River Mining Co., Ltd. stated that it will complete the overall design for the first phase of the project, which involves 2.6 million tons of metallurgical coke, 100,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, and 400,000 tons of methanol, as soon as possible, with the aim of starting construction in August. In February 2014, the environmental impact assessment application for Inner Mongolia Heimao Coal Chemical Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 100,000 tons of caprolactam per year and 400,000 tons of LNG per year using coke oven gas, was approved by the Inner Mongolia Environmental Protection Department. The project is located in the Qingshan Industrial Park in Wulat Houqi County, Bayannur City, and involves the construction in two phases of a facility capable of producing 100,000 tons per year of caprolactam and 400,000 tons per year of LNG from coke oven gas. The first phase of the project involves an investment of 11.841 billion yuan, and it aims to produce 100,000 tons of caprolactam per year, as well as 400,000 tons of LNG per year using coke oven gas. Inner Mongolia Heimao Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. is controlled by Shaanxi Heimao Coking Co., Ltd. Shaanxi Black Cat Coking Co., Ltd. is the largest coking enterprise in Shaanxi Province as well as a model enterprise for circular economy. It conducted its initial public offering of A shares and was listed on the main board on November 5, 2014; it is controlled by Shaanxi Yellow River Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. On the morning of June 6, the Shanxi Black Cat Clean Energy and Shanxi Haizi Coal Industry project was signed in Yaodu, Linfen. Shaanxi Yellow River Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. and Shanxi Haizi Group Co., Ltd. have agreed to establish Shanxi Haizi Coal Industry Co., Ltd. and Shanxi Heimao Clean Energy Co., Ltd. within the Linfen area. By taking advantage of Linfen’s resources and strategic location as a base for coking coal, these companies plan to build projects for the production of 20 million tons per year of raw coal, 16 million tons per year of washed refined coal, and 10 million tons per year of high-value coal chemical products. The total investment for these projects is 90 billion yuan.
