1. Ammonia solution preparation room: 1 liquid ammonia tank with a capacity of 200–400 KG, along with necessary facilities such as ammonia storage tanks and mixers for preparing ammonia solutions. What are the specific requirements regarding building, electrical, and instrumentation design? 2. 3 liquid ammonia cylinders, each weighing 200–400 KG. Design requirements for storage areas. Thank you!
Spend some money and have a design firm prepare the design drawings: lol
The design institute requires the use of a gas cylinder room that must be 25 meters away from other related equipment, which is difficult to implement. There’s no land left
The storage and transportation of liquid ammonia are designed in accordance with the standards and specifications related to fire hazard category B. The fire hazard associated with ammonia storage tanks can be determined by referring to Class C liquids, as specified in DLT5480-2013 – Technical Specifications for Flue Gas Denitration Design in Thermal Power Plants
When preparing ammonia solution from liquid ammonia, stirring is not required. The classification of the ammonia solution is determined based on its electrical explosion-proof rating, and buildings used for storing ammonia must meet Class B requirements. The storage area design must meet fire separation requirements, be equipped with analysis, detection, and alarm devices for flammable and explosive hazardous chemicals, as well as other safety facilities such as sprinkler systems.

Hello! In the room where ammonia water is handled, that is, the room containing ammonia tanks, pumps, mixers, etc., and where ammonia cylinders are present, must that building also meet fire separation requirements? Is it still not permitted to have ammonia cylinders? Must ammonia cylinders be placed in a separate, compliant location from which ammonia is then piped into the ammonia tank room?
There should be fire separation distances as required by the regulations; check if there are any requirements regarding capacity. Mainly targeted at liquid ammonia.
