At 7:10 on September 25, after 17 hours of preparation for heating the furnace, once the temperature of the coal feeding bed reached 427°C, the thermoelectric unit began to operate using coal and successfully generated steam; the #1 boiler was ignited successfully on the first attempt. This is Ulan Group’s 1.35 million tons of synthetic ammonia/2.4 million tons of urea project – a milestone achievement in project construction, resulting from the determined efforts made over a 100-day period of intensive work, and through the joint efforts of all the parties involved in its construction. The thermal power unit of the large-scale fertilizer project serves as the source of steam for the entire chemical production facility; it is an essential component of the system that provides water, electricity, and steam. The successful ignition of the power boiler to generate steam is a crucial step in getting the project up and running, and it represents an important milestone in the production testing phase. It is related to tasks such as the commissioning of the air separation unit and the purging of the high and medium pressure steam systems, and it holds great significance for the completion of the large-scale fertilizer project by the end of the year. If one is to do his work well, he must first sharpen his tools. A successful first ignition of the boiler depends on thorough preliminary preparation. The company established a thermoelectric commissioning command team, which holds coordination meetings on a daily basis to identify existing problems and verify the conditions required for starting up the boiler ; The thermoelectric workshop provided systematic pre-job training for the operators, preparing them both in terms of personnel and skills for boiler ignition ; The members of the command team conducted repeated inspections and verifications of the valves and pipelines in the boiler system, as well as the boiler equipment itself, and made repeated adjustments to the parameters required for ignition to ensure stable boiler operation. At the same time, the Production Department, the Mechanical Department, the Instrumentation and Control Workshop, the Electrical Workshop, and the Quality Inspection Center mobilized their key technical personnel to work closely together, remaining at their posts to provide professional support for the successful ignition of the boiler. Since the preparations for lighting the boiler began, company leaders such as General Manager Zhou Gencun, Executive Deputy General Manager Zhang Jianxun, and Deputy General Manager in charge of production and Chief Engineer Guo Jun have attached great importance to this matter. They have actively coordinated efforts, made rational plans, and organized everything carefully, overcoming various difficulties to ensure safety, keep the project on schedule, and maintain quality – ultimately achieving a successful first ignition of Boiler No. 1. The successful ignition of the boiler, as a significant milestone in the project construction, marked the beginning of the trial operation phase of the large-scale fertilizer plant and served as the prelude to its commissioning.
