Xinjiang Yihua Makes Great Progress in Gasification Technology Author/Source: Yihua Group Date: 2020-12-24 Clicks: 12 On September 6, the 3×40,000 Nm3/h circulating fluidized bed oxygen-enriched gasification units at Xinjiang Yihua were successfully ignited all at once. This system represents an advanced new coal gasification process in the national industry, designed to suit the coal quality characteristics of the Zhundong development area. Through some innovative treatment methods, it overcomes the various challenges associated with Zhundong sub-bituminous coal, such as high sodium and potassium content, high moisture levels, low ash content, low ash fusion point, oil content, special viscosity-temperature properties, and poor slurry-forming ability. As a result, it becomes the most suitable option for large-scale new coal gasification processes that use Zhundong sub-bituminous coal as raw material. To operate this set of equipment effectively, all the staff and workers in the gasification workshop, under the leadership of the company’s Party committee, continuously worked to overcome technical challenges and succeeded in addressing one technical and quality issue after another, thus ensuring that the ammonia synthesis system could reach its intended production levels in a short time. On May 14, 2018, with the signing of the EPC general contract, the staff and workers at the gasification site also assumed a heavy responsibility. Tasks included the renovation of existing facilities, the demolition of old systems, and the construction of new projects. During the peak period of construction, there were as many as 60 work sites, with over 600 workers involved. To ensure the orderly progress of projects and the proper compliance with operational standards, the workshop strictly implements the \"Nine-Step Work Method.\" At the end of each day’s work, the safety team takes the lead in organizing specialized training for all employees, addressing issues identified during on-site inspections by explaining in detail each aspect, from the filling out of forms to approval processes and final inspection procedures. The first thing done at the start of each day is to review the safety guidelines for construction, so that everyone attaches great importance to safety matters in terms of mindset and strictly follows these safety measures in their actions. By working together, it has been possible to ensure that no safety incidents occur during the construction process. To ensure the successful operation of new technologies, materials, processes, and equipment, it is essential that operators possess excellent professional skills and extensive practical experience. Under the careful planning and arrangement of the company’s Party committee, the workshop sent 24 highly skilled workers on a training journey. Over the course of half a year, they traveled to several different cities without any complaints, studying diligently and working hard to acquire new skills within the limited time available, thereby achieving the goal of successfully lighting the gasification furnace on the first attempt. At the same time, in order to address the problem of coking inside the furnace, company leaders were stationed at the gasification site and personally led the technical staff in conducting daily analyses and comparisons of the equipment. By implementing a series of technical measures, they successfully overcame the challenge of coking that occurred when using high-alkali coal from Zhundong in the gasification furnace, thereby ensuring that the ammonia synthesis plant could operate at full capacity and meet all performance standards.
