A new sealing technology has been successfully introduced at the Gasification Plant of Shaanxi Shenhua Coal Chemical Group. Author/Source: Shaanxi Shenhua Coal Chemical Group Co., Ltd. Date: 2021-01-29 Clicks: 17 Recently, good news came from the Gasification Plant of Shaanxi Shenhua Coal Chemical Group: a new type of oil seal was successfully used in the reducer of the high-pressure coal slurry pump in Boiler B. Since Boiler B was put into operation, tests have shown that its performance is excellent, with no leaks occurring. As seals for reducers and bearing housings, oil seals play a very important role, but they are also vulnerable components that need to be replaced frequently. Traditional oil seals present various problems, including high replacement costs, long replacement times, and the need to shut down and disassemble the equipment during replacement. To eliminate this problem, the Mechanical Power Department took the lead in organizing efforts; Du Ximing, the assistant minister, actively drew on the advanced management practices of companies in the same industry, and ultimately new split-type oil seals were used to replace the old ones. The new type of oil seal offers many advantages, such as the ability to install and remove it without having to disassemble the equipment, ease of use, the ability to complete installation or removal within three minutes, and a long service life. After introducing this new technology, the existing problems were easily solved. The company has a large number of gear reducers and bearing housings on site; this new technology will be widely adopted in the future, using individual cases as examples to improve the overall equipment management level of the company. In 2021, in terms of equipment management, the company continued to actively address the issues related to the \"three highs and one long\" type of equipment. It pursued technological innovation, with a focus on implementing seven such projects, including the renovation of the bearings in the BDO formaldehyde fan motors, the modification of the electrical switchgear in the compound fertilizer production facility, and changes to the methods used for inspecting water wells. Once these technical improvement projects are implemented and yield results, they will play a significant role in reducing equipment failures, saving maintenance costs, and lowering the workload on workers.
