On December 14, 2021, the annual summary meeting for open research projects of the Innovation Center for Efficient Utilization of Nitrogen Fertilizers (hereinafter referred to as the “Nitrogen Platform”) was held in the meeting room on the sixth floor of the Nitrogen Fertilizer Research Center of Xinlianxin Group, in a hybrid online and offline format. The meeting was chaired by Ye Youliang, a professor at Henan Agricultural University. A total of 16 experts and professors from 11 research projects, including Li Xiaolin, Jiang Rongfeng, and Liu Xuejun from China Agricultural University, attended the meeting. Liu Xingxu, Chairman of Xinlianxin Group; Yan Yunhua, Vice Chairman; Ren Rongkui and Jia Xinchao, Deputy General Managers; Li Yushun, Chief Technical Advisor; Lu Shulin, Deputy Director of the Compound Fertilizer Decision-Making Committee; as well as staff from various departments including the Product Research Institute, Postdoctoral Research Station, Xinxiang Compound Fertilizer Business Unit, Marketing Planning Center, Marketing Big Data Center, Xinjiang Company, and Jiujiang Company, attended the presentation meeting. Zhang Fusuo, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the conference via video and delivered a speech. Academician Zhang first commended the work of all the members of the expert group over the past year. At the same time, in light of issues such as high costs of fertilizers, an incomplete overall industrial chain, and bottlenecks in linking agricultural production with other sectors, it is proposed to integrate industry and agriculture in order to reduce costs and improve the utilization of technological innovations, thereby fostering the overall development of the fertilizer industry. Subsequently, Liu Xingxu, chairman of Xinlianxin Group, thanked the experts for their support of the work related to the nitrogen platform, as well as for their contributions to the green development of agriculture in China and the improvement of the quality of agricultural products. It is hoped that the R&D personnel at Xinlianxin will put customer needs at the center, enhance communication and cooperation with experts from the Nitrogen Platform, and optimize and upgrade the company’s range of high-efficiency fertilizers, thereby contributing to the efficient development of China’s nitrogen fertilizer industry. Next, Deputy General Manager Ren Rongkui delivered a speech. He said that Xinlianxin Company needs to coordinate internal and external resources efficiently, and in line with the work plan of \"one region, one crop, one fertilizer, one technique,\" it should carry out research in various areas such as soil improvement, enhancing plant resistance, improving the yield and quality of crops, precise fertilization, and the development of innovative fertilization techniques, with the help of expert team members. Optimize and upgrade the company’s products and technologies to provide better solutions and innovations for the green and efficient development of agriculture in China. Next, the meeting featured presentations on technologies for the efficient use of nitrogen fertilizer in crops such as albino tea, apples, peaches, citrus fruits, potatoes, ginger, garlic, and peanuts, as well as on measures to reduce ammonia emissions and integrated approaches for monitoring, formulating, producing, supplying, and applying fertilizers. We reviewed the progress and conclusions of various open research topics over the past year. We held in-depth discussions and exchanges regarding the identified issues, summarized the current work, and planned the next steps. At the meeting, the experts, leaders, and colleagues present listened carefully to the presentations, exchanged opinions and ideas, and offered valuable suggestions regarding the development of high-efficiency fertilizers by Xinlianxin as well as the operation of its fertilizer blending stations, thus providing guidance for Xinlianxin’s progress in this field.
