It was recently learned that the Hefei Ecology and Environment Bureau has published a notice regarding the energy-saving and carbon-reduction renovation project for the ammonia synthesis system at Zhongyan Anhui Hongsi Fang Co., Ltd. Zhongyan Hongsi Fang plans to build a new semi-waste-boiler water-coal slurry gasification unit with a coal feeding rate of 1,500 tons per day, to replace the three synthetic ammonia units equipped with multi-material slurry gasifiers having a coal feeding rate of 750 tons per day; it also intends to carry out modifications to make more efficient use of the waste steam and pressure. The project investment is 177.0708 million yuan. According to the information published on China General Bidding Network, Zhongyan Hongsisifang has the following requirements for the gasification furnace. Coal feed rate: 1,500 tons per day. Operating pressure: 6.5 MPa. Operating temperature: 1,200–1,400°C (provisional; final value to be determined based on coal analysis). Output of crude syngas (under normal operating conditions): 94,400 m3/h (CO + H2). Operating flexibility: 60%–120%. The first phase of the Zhongyan Hongsihuai ammonia production plant utilizes the multi-material slurry gasification technology developed by the Northwest Institute of Chemical Technology, as well as low-temperature methanol washing and liquid nitrogen washing techniques, along with low-pressure synthesis processes, to produce 280,000 tons of ammonia per year and 300,000 tons of urea per year.
