The technological upgrade of Qianxi Chemical’s methanol dual-column coupled distillation system is in progress

On April 13, 2026, the entire process of lifting and installing tower C-4404C in the project involving the application of coupled distillation technology was successfully completed, with the lifting being accomplished in one go. This marked the entry of the methanol twin-tower renovation project into its final phase, laying a solid foundation for the timely commissioning of the entire project. The pressure tower has a diameter of 2.8 meters, a net height of 45 meters, and a total weight of approximately 66 tons. According to the information published on the Zhongyuan Cloud Commerce Electronic Bidding Platform, Qianxi Chemical’s coupled distillation technology represents an energy-saving upgrade for existing DMO-based systems for treating wastewater containing alcohols. This technology makes use of a dual-tower coupled distillation approach, by adding a pressurized tower and modifying the existing atmospheric-pressure tower, thereby enabling hierarchical utilization of thermal energy and reducing steam consumption. Guizhou Donghua Engineering Co., Ltd. undertook the design subcontracting work for this project.
