Any of them can be used; there is no standard specifying that a certain material cannot be used. Nowadays, non-metallic materials are often used for buried pipelines. If Category A media contain corrosive substances, steel pipes are not suitable; instead, corrosion-resistant non-metallic pipes or pipes lined with plastic can be used
There is no absolute ban; it depends on how you use it, and a hazard analysis is required; You can’t generalize and judge everyone the same way.
Personally, I think it’s not possible; it’s too easy to damage. Carbon steel pipes of poor quality are not acceptable, and non-metallic materials probably are not either.
