Online system for measuring nylon viscosity. Nylon 6 (polycaprolactam) is produced by the polymerization of caprolactam; continuous polymerization is now generally employed, with equipment designs continuously being improved, and the processing techniques becoming increasingly rational and mature. However, the detection of viscosity during the nylon production process has always relied on laboratory sampling and analysis. Due to the time lag associated with such sampling and analysis, any abnormalities that occur during production cannot be effectively controlled. Online nylon viscosity monitoring systems do not require sampling; they provide real-time monitoring and feedback, which enables timely alerts in the event of any abnormalities, thus facilitating better guidance in production. The production process of nylon 6 is rather special, as it involves polymerization within pipes. Therefore, the conventional instruments used in our system are generally installed on these pipes (to avoid disrupting production, a bypass is usually installed on the main pipe), and the signals from these instruments are then fed to our smart instruments for modeling purposes.
