Dear sea friends, the pressure in a normal-pressure tank is generally 1.2 Kpa. So how should we understand the terms \"normal pressure\" and \"standard atmospheric pressure\"? One is 1.2 Kpa and the other is 101.3 Kpa
Standard atmospheric pressure refers to 1 standard atmosphere, and the pressure of 1 standard atmosphere is 101.3 kPa. In engineering, 100 kPa is often taken as the standard value; therefore, equipment designed for standard atmospheric conditions operates at a pressure of just over 1 thousand kPa. This value varies to some extent depending on the atmospheric pressure in the region where it is used； Standard atmospheric pressure refers to the air pressure at sea level under standard atmospheric conditions, and it is a fixed value of 101.3 kPa
This post was last edited by Guangzhou Uprising on 2019-11-28 at 14:59. 101.3KPa refers to absolute pressure, while 1.2KPa for a gauge tank is gauge pressure. That’s what it means, right? For pressure regulations of atmospheric-pressure vessels, the design pressure is greater than -0.02 MPa and less than 0.1 MPa, and this refers to gauge pressure.
Atmospheric pressure refers to the local air pressure, while standard atmospheric pressure is 101.325 kPa
