At what interval should steam tracing points for steam extraction and condensate drainage be installed over long distances? The sludge oil flow rate is 50 cubic meters per hour, the operating temperature is 80°C, the operating pressure is 0.7 MPa, the pipe diameter is DN100, and the insulation thickness is 60 mm.

Under such operating conditions, the advantage of low-pressure steam is its rapid heating capability, the ability to start and stop usage as needed, the absence of explosion-proof requirements, and lower investment costs. If the plant has a steam heat source, using the low-pressure or low-low pressure steam resulting from the flash evaporation of medium-pressure steam is the most economical option ; But that’s a different matter if there is no steam source in the factory. The advantage of electric heating is that it provides a stable and continuous heat source, such as for heating the fuel system in heavy oil steam boilers. Personal opinion.
Taking everything into account, factors such as the length of the main pipeline and the availability of a steam heat source come into play; if the distance is around ten kilometers, a separate high-pressure main pipeline for steam needs to be installed.
