According to a report from Sinochem New Network, the Chinese petroleum enterprise standard \"Design Specifications for Hydrogen Storage-Type Hydrogen Refueling Stations\" (Q/SY 05025-2025), which was prepared under the leadership of the Dalian branch of China Kunlun Engineering, has been officially put into effect recently. This standard establishes a comprehensive set of technical requirements for hydrogen refueling stations that use liquid hydrogen for storage. It systematically specifies the technical standards for key aspects such as site selection, internal layout of the station, liquid hydrogen storage facilities, pipelines and components for liquid hydrogen and cryogenic hydrogen, unloading and pressurization systems, as well as safety and protection measures. This not only fills the standard gap in this field for CNPC, laying a technical foundation for the safe and stable development of its hydrogen energy industry, but also provides a highly valuable reference model for the standardization of liquid hydrogen infrastructure in China. This standard is the result of over four years of hard work and wisdom by the development team at the Dalian branch. The team conducted comprehensive research throughout the industry’s upstream and downstream sectors, systematically analyzing the current state of technologies and engineering practices both domestically and internationally ; After the standard was approved, the drafting team conducted dozens of specialized discussions to continuously refine the text framework and technical details ; In the face of key technical challenges such as low-temperature storage of liquid hydrogen and safety protection, opinions from top experts in the industry were sought extensively, resulting in hundreds of suggestions for improvement. Through detailed analysis and multiple revisions, technical provisions that are scientific, rigorous, and practical were ultimately developed. From the rigorous verification of literature data to practical field research, team members maintained efficient communication with the technical standards committee, and with a craftsman’s spirit of striving for excellence, they overcame one technical challenge after another, ultimately completing the drafting, review, and finalization of the standards successfully. The official implementation of this standard will effectively address previous pain points, such as the fragmented design and inconsistent technical requirements for liquid hydrogen refueling stations. It will significantly reduce project investment and schedule risks, and strongly facilitate the transformation and upgrading of enterprises’ liquid hydrogen refueling station construction toward standardization, modularization, and intelligence. This, in turn, provides crucial technical support for achieving China’s “dual carbon” goals.
