The head and shell wall thicknesses of vertical containers are different; how should the nominal diameter be chosen?

This post was last edited by qwe15790 on 2021-8-13 at 16:06. There is a set of vertical containers that need to be designed; it’s a relatively simple design. However, the wall thickness of the head is 6, and since the material available for the cylinder body is only 7 thick, that thickness has to be used for it as well. When performing calculations using SW6, should the inner diameter be set at 261 or 259? Regardless of which value is chosen, the calculations for both the cylinder body and the head are based on the same value
