Dear marine friends, according to page 302, section 5.1.53(10) of the fourth edition of the \"Pressure Pipeline Training Manual,\" the suction pipeline of combustible gas compressors should have measures in place to prevent the creation of negative pressure. May I ask what measures can be taken to prevent negative pressure from occurring?
Negative pressure in the intake pipeline triggers interlocked shutdown, and low level alarm in the gas tank also triggers interlocked shutdown.
Thank you for the answer from the third floor. My first reaction when I saw the stripes was to find a way to prevent negative pressure from forming in the intake ducts.
The inlet pipeline of the combustible gas compressor should have measures to prevent negative pressure, in order to avoid disasters such as explosions and fires caused by air leakage. Measures include low-pressure interlock shutdown, but this approach would cause the entire plant to stop operating, so it is generally not used. If the drive can be adjusted to reduce the air intake volume, that is one solution; if the drive device cannot be varied in speed, a bypass line can be taken from the compressor outlet to the inlet to regulate the inlet pressure. This auxiliary line is usually included in the drawings provided by compressor manufacturers, and it is used during operation.
Thank you for the reply from the fifth floor. I roughly understand what you mean. The secondary line is equivalent to the low-flow line of the pump. If the drive is variable frequency, can a bypass wire be omitted?
