Open Disc in the P&ID (or other components?) ) intended purpose of design

This post was last edited by firelake on 2021-11-16 at 16:33. If anyone knows the design features of Open Disc, please let me know. What is the purpose of adding an Open Disc to the pipeline at the inlet of the chemical tower’s nozzles? Or is this identifier for some other pipe component?
It’s just a blind flange; under normal conditions, the pipeline is open. In the case of maintenance or other situations, the pipeline can be sealed off blindly

Additionally, wouldn’t it be more professional to use an 8-character blind plate to indicate whether it is a through plate or a blind plate? Please take a look too at what’s here exactly Could it be a orifice plate to prevent flashing?
It should be called a gasket ring; it doesn’t include the half with an 8-shaped blind plate for sealing, and it doesn’t take up space outside the pipeline. When needed, an insert of the same size can be inserted to achieve isolation – refer to HG21547
