On February 12, a tender announcement was issued for the power management system integrated with wind, solar, hydrogen, and ammonia, as part of the general contracting project for the China Energy Engineering Group Songyuan Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park (integrated green hydrogen, ammonia, and alcohol production). The tendering and procurement entity is China Power Engineering Consulting Group Northeast Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. The name of the procurement project is the general contracting project for the Zhongnengjian Songyuan Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park (integrated green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol production), which involves a power management system that integrates wind, solar, hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol production. The construction of this project is carried out by Nengjian Green Ammonia and New Energy (Songyuan) Co., Ltd., with funding coming from both the company’s own resources and bank loans; 20% of the funds come from the company’s own capital, while 80% comes from bank loans. The project is located in Songyuan City, Jilin Province. The site for the new energy power generation facilities is in Qiange County, Songyuan City, while the site for the hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol production facilities is in the Jilin Songyuan Petrochemical Industry Circular Economy Park. The scale of the project includes the construction of facilities capable of producing 45,000 tons per year of hydrogen through water electrolysis, 200,000 tons per year of ammonia, and 20,000 tons per year of methanol. Additionally, the project includes 800 MW of wind and solar energy facilities (750 MW of wind power and 50 MW/60 MWp of photovoltaic power), two 220 kV step-up substations, one 220 kV step-down substation, 220 kV interconnection lines and transmission lines, electrochemical energy storage systems, and an electrolyzer manufacturing plant. Project construction model: The EPC general contracting approach is adopted, with China Power Engineering Consulting Group Northeast Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. serving as the EPC general contractor for the project. Once the project is completed and handed over, the rights of the tenderer are transferred to the construction unit.
The demand for green and low-carbon solutions is driving collaboration across industries, with the power and chemical sectors working together to develop integrated projects. However, professional tasks should be handled by professionals; power design institutes carry out EPC projects for chemical plants, and the design standards differ, so this issue requires attention.
