Hello everyone, when calculating vertical thermosiphons, after all parameters are specified (including data on the cold and hot fluid streams, heat load, static head, etc.), why does the software (HTRI) recalculate the temperature at the inlet? (The temperature calculated seems to be the bubble point temperature corresponding to the inlet pressure.) However, if the static head is not specified in the software from the start, and instead the software is allowed to calculate the static head required to achieve a certain vaporization fraction, then this issue does not occur. However, when the static head value calculated by the software is entered back into the software for further calculation, the same phenomenon occurs: the software recalculates the inlet temperature of the heat exchanger, and the temperature displayed at the bottom of the reboiling piping page is also this newly calculated temperature. I don’t quite understand this phenomenon; I think there must be an issue with my calculations. Please help me figure it out. Thank you. See the figure below. The normal inlet temperature for the heat exchanger should be 138.52°C, which is the result calculated by the software when no static head is specified. The figure below shows that, after calculating the static head (0.356 m) using the given software, the inlet temperature came out to be 159°C
