Recently, the 90% model review for the EPC general contracting project for the energy-saving renovation of Hubei Yihua New Energy Co., Ltd.’s plant with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of caustic soda, a project undertaken by China Chemical China Tianchen Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully completed. This review session lasted one week, starting with the evaluation of the feedback on 60% of the models, and conducted a comprehensive and thorough examination of aspects such as the details of the manufacturing process, the rationality of the piping in the 3D models, and the convenience of daily operation and maintenance. During the review process, the technical professionals from various fields within the project team provided detailed explanations of the model. By building on existing advanced technologies and characteristics in the industry, they made full use of their experience to strive for the optimal project solution. The successful completion of this review meeting marks the entry of the project design phase into its final stages, laying a solid foundation for the smooth progress of on-site civil works and installation activities. On March 19, Hubei Yihua New Energy Co., Ltd. signed an EPC general contract for the energy-saving renovation project related to the relocation of its 200,000 tons per year caustic soda production facility with China Tianchen Engineering Co., Ltd. (referred to as “China Tianchen”). The tender announcement for the EPC general contracting of Hubei Yihua New Energy Co., Ltd.’s 200,000 tons per year caustic soda production facility relocation and energy-saving renovation project states that the total project area is expected to be 536 mu, with an estimated investment of around 1.2 billion yuan; the construction will take place in phases, depending on the progress of construction at enterprises located downstream in the industrial park as well as market conditions. For the 200,000 tons per year caustic soda relocation, upgrading and energy-saving renovation project, except for the electrolyzer plates and ion membranes which will be installed in two phases, the rest will be constructed all at once on a scale of 200,000 tons. Phase 1 involves an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of caustic soda; Phase 2 will add another 100,000 tons of caustic soda, along with the corresponding electrolyzer plates and ion exchange membranes, depending on the company’s future development plans and the progress of construction at downstream chlorine-consuming enterprises. This will result in an overall caustic soda production capacity of 200,000 tons. The facility will also include capacity for producing 33,000 tons of HCl, 50,000 tons per year of 48% caustic soda, 135,000 tons of hydrochloric acid, 160,000 tons of liquid chlorine, as well as a 220 kV substation and a 2 MW hydrogen fuel cell power generation project. On March 8, the Yichang Ecology and Environment Bureau published the draft environmental impact assessment report for Hubei Yihua New Energy Co., Ltd.’s energy-saving renovation project related to the relocation of its 200,000-ton per year caustic soda production facility, seeking public comments. On March 15, Hubei Yihua announced that the company intended to change the implementation schedule for the energy-saving renovation project related to the expansion of its caustic soda production capacity to 200,000 tons per year, shifting from a two-phase construction approach to a single-phase completion. Through comparative analysis, the primary equipment for this project is installed in one go, which avoids the need for additional special operations in the production facility area and reduces safety risks. It can be put into operation in one go, with flexible load adjustment, which helps to make efficient use of production capacity and generate profits as soon as possible.
