CNPC Engineering Secures Another Contract for the Atavi GMP Project July 8, 2025 Bookmark According to Sinochem News, on July 3, CNPC Engineering issued a statement indicating that its wholly-owned subsidiary, China National Petroleum Pipeline Bureau Engineering Co., Ltd., signed an EPSCC contract with TotalEnergies for the midstream pipeline project related to natural gas in the Atavi oil field in Iraq; the value of this contract is $294 million. It is reported that in May 2025, the engineering construction company received a letter of award for the Atawi GPP project from TotalEnergies, confirming the company as the winner of the bid for this project; on May 15, the company issued a announcement titled “CNPC Engineering’s Announcement on Its Subsidiary Winning a Project Bid”. The Atawi GPP project is executed under the EPSCC turnkey contract model, involving the construction of a natural gas processing facility with a capacity of 320 million cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) along with associated facilities. The planned timeline for achieving temporary acceptance for this project is 39 months. CNPC Engineering stated that if the project is implemented successfully, it will help the company further strengthen and expand its operations in the field of onshore oil and gas field infrastructure projects in Iraq and throughout the Middle East, and it will have a positive impact on the company’s revenue and profit levels over the next 4 to 5 years.
