On August 18, the Environmental Impact Report (Form) for Ningbo Energy Group Co., Ltd.’s biomass gasification technology research and testing project entered the approval stage. On June 9, the biomass gasification technology research and testing project of Ningbo Energy Group Co., Ltd. was approved for registration! Project code: 2506-330206-04-01-864513. Construction contents: This project involves installing one set of 500 kg/h biomass pyrolysis gasification furnace and gasification testing equipment within the existing factory premises, in order to carry out research and experimental projects on biomass gasification technology. Ningbo Energy Group, in collaboration with CSIC 711 Institute, has developed a fourth-generation fluidized bed gasification technology with a thermal efficiency of 78% (25% higher than that of traditional methods), and it is suitable for various types of feedstocks such as rice husks and wood chips. Ningbo Energy Group Co., Ltd. is a state-owned holding enterprise under the jurisdiction of Ningbo, and it is affiliated with Ningbo Development and Investment Group Co., Ltd. The company was established on August 23, 1995, and went public on the main board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2004. In 2019, the company’s major asset restructuring was approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission, and in 2020 it was officially renamed Ningbo Energy Group Co., Ltd. from Ningbo Thermal Power Co., Ltd. It mainly covers three major sectors: cogeneration, green energy, and investment and trade. Specifically, it includes pumped storage, biomass power generation, energy storage, and integrated energy services, as well as investment activities related to the energy and environmental protection industries. The company’s main products are heat and electricity. Steam generated from coal combustion is supplied to industrial users, while electricity is generated via steam turbines and fed directly into the power grid. Expansion of the biomass energy business: The company has completed the acquisition of 90% of the equity in Funan Biomass and Baoquanling Biomass, both subsidiaries of China State Shipbuilding Corporation. It now operates a total of five biomass power generation enterprises. Throughout the year, these plants are expected to generate approximately 1 billion kWh of electricity for the grid, thereby saving around 400,000 tons of coal. At the same time, the company plans to develop biomass gasification projects in locations such as Chunxiao and Yushan, taking local conditions into account. The biomass fluidized bed gasification technology developed in collaboration with CSIC 711 Institute holds great potential for development.
