Recently, the foundation design review meeting for the 50,000 tons per year MTBE plant (including butylene isomerization) project of Yan’an Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Yanenghua”), which was designed by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as “Beiyou Engineering”), was successfully held in Xi’an. Han Shidong, Deputy General Manager of Yanneng Chemical Company, and Liu Hanying, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of Beiyou Engineering Company, attended the meeting. During the meeting, the company’s design team provided a detailed presentation on the preliminary design results for the 50,000 tons per year MTBE plant, focusing on key aspects such as the selection of the process route, optimization of equipment selection, and safety and environmental protection considerations. After in-depth discussions and analysis, the experts present put forward specific optimization suggestions. After thorough review, the evaluation panel unanimously agreed that the content and depth of the foundation design meet the requirements specified in the Sinopec Group’s \"Regulations on the Design Content for Foundations of Petrochemical Plants\" (SPMP-STD-EM2003-2016), and approved it for approval. This project is a key measure for Yanneng Chemical to deepen its industrial chain layout and improve resource utilization efficiency. By integrating the three processes of MTBE production, alkenes separation, and butene isomerization, isobutylene present in the recycle streams of ACO units can be efficiently converted into high-value products, enabling the thorough utilization of existing resources. Through process optimization and technological innovation, it is expected to enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises, serving as a model for the transformation and upgrading of the regional chemical industry. The approval obtained this time lays a solid foundation for the detailed design of the project, providing technical support for its smooth implementation in the future.
