Bid for EPC general contract of 100,000 tons/year biomass green methanol project (Phase I) in Lanzhou New Area

On January 7, a tender was issued for the EPC general contracting of Lanzhou New Area’s 100,000 tons per year biomass-based green methanol project (Phase I). Project overview: This is a project for producing green methanol through biomass gasification coupled with green hydrogen production; the main production facilities include units for converting biomass into syngas, systems for conversion and purification, compression units, methanol synthesis equipment, methanol distillation units, as well as a 200MW photovoltaic power generation system (photovoltaic generation and related infrastructure are not part of this tender). Hydrogen is produced via water electrolysis. Bidder: Lanzhou New Area Nengke Ecological Development Co., Ltd. (a state-owned enterprise). Total investment: 1,427,398,700 yuan. Timeline requirement: from March 2026 to September 2027, not exceeding 18 months (including the construction period during the winter and rainy seasons). Bid section division: Bid Section 1: The 100,000 tons per year biomass green methanol project in Lanzhou New Area (Phase I), which includes one set of biomass gasification units, as well as systems for conversion and purification, compression, methanol synthesis, and methanol distillation. It also encompasses utility and auxiliary facilities such as gas-fired boilers for power generation, biomass pellet production facilities, storage tanks for biomass raw materials, tank farms and loading/unloading systems, flares, the entire plant’s piping system, air separation units, and recirculating water stations. Bid Section 2: General contract for the design, procurement, and construction of a backup biomass gasification unit for the 100,000 tons per year biomass-based green methanol project (Phase I) in Lanzhou New Area.
